“As we trudged along towards the hill, I heard a peculiar noise behind a small rising on our right, and on looking over the crest, I was delighted to see two beautiful giraffe feeding peacefully a little distance away and straining their long necks to get at the tops of some mimosa-like trees, while a young one was lying down in the grass quite close to me… I left them undisturbed…”

Hello Ascender,
You are so talented.
I have been to the safaris in East Africa.
The giraffes are the first things you see in wildlife parks.
And they’re so friendly…It’s said in Tanzania that if after staring at you, they swish their tails about, that means they’re welcoming you into their midst.
Yes, I would like to find this giraffe sculpture in my neck of the woods!
LOL! I thought that was real. Heh.
I didn’t play because I am working on a special project htis month, but I had to drop in and see what some of my favorites were up to.
As always you have made the perfect photo/word combo.
Have a fabulous week,
Frances
What a very very cool photo
ooohhh!
Happy WW!
Fabulous! Once I did see a giraffe crossing the street at Columbus Circle in New York. He was being led on a leash by his trainer. Apparently they were filming a movie nearby.
I saw giraffes (do you add an “s” to make plural?) in Zambia at a game preserve close to Victoria Falls. They are vey tall when you are sitting in a car in the middle of a herd of them.
I love this picture. I wouldn’t mind having one of these in my yard!
