Scatterlings© is a collection of self-directed enchantment art which combines actual foliage with watercolor and color pencil mediums. Hidden among the actual and rendered foliage are an enchanted assortment of Scatterlings©; mythical animals and fairies. Jacquelyn succeeds in forming ’something’ out of ‘the nothing’ often overlooked in everyday life. These one-of-a-kind folk art pieces take up to a year to complete as flowers and leaves are collected, pressed, preserved and finally hidden within a vision that evolves continually. Using acrylics Jacquelyn combines her expertise in interior design watercolor rendering skills to create a lively changing pattern with a humorous quality. Fresh Perspectives – Renderings
“Fresh Perspectives” combine years of experience painting perspective renderings in several mediums (Acrylics, Watercolor, Colored Pencil). The basis of each painting begin with architectural details and/or renderings created by hand off of perspective charts then floats off into wallpaper details leaving a dream-like feeling . Hand-drawn perspective renderings of interiors and exteriors, commercial and residential. While working for her Fine Arts degree in Interior Design Jacquelyn was vice president of the student American Society of Interior Designers. She went on to create renderings and advertising for an interior design studio and a furniture store, totaling ten years producing contract and residential perspective renderings/interior design. A collection of actual paint-by-numbers canvases in which I have thrown away the color key and prepackaged Paint By Number (PBN) paint tubs, substituting higher grade Acrylics. Once altered there is pleasure in the strangely familiar feeling of many of the works, and a bit of tension from interpretations.
