Seeking gallery representation for the Scatterlings© series

Jacquelyn L. Berl is the creative force behind AscenderRisesAbove.com. While working for her Associates of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design, she was vice president of the student American Society of Interior Designers spending ten years doing contract and residential interior design perspective renderings.

She then expanded her horizons to that of a graphic and fine artist. Her self-directed efforts won over 65 national and local awards in the areas of graphic design and marketing. She has done a great deal of community work, including contributions of graphic work for several non-profits. A particular favorite nonprofit project was the Nicolaysen Art Museum in Casper, Wyoming offering her time in the Children’s Discovery Center in addition aiding in graphic needs on newsletters and special promotions on the marketing committee.

She began to sell her fine artwork privately, donating some proceeds to non-profit organizations. She has held 3 Juried Exhibits; 7 solo exhibits, and 9 group exhibits of her personal work, and each time has successfully blended her powerful vision with a variety of artistic media and form.

Jacquelyn L. Berl  is a versatile and and prolific artist with a strong drive towards finding an original signature style. She creates art with a seemingly unlimited assortment of media, fusing various schools and trends into a conglomerate body of work. I would categorize her style as gravitating towards the surreal, often with fabulous qualities; it characterizes in various degrees her mixed media works, collages, ink, watercolor and oil paintings. To my mind Berl achieves best results with the more combinative efforts, and while the more traditional artwork exhibits engaging pristine and figurative qualities, it is in the more complex and “dirty” pieces that her creative potential finds a unique outlet. “For me every act of creating art is catharsis.
If I can provide my viewer with
just a glimpse of that emotional action,
I feel I have been successful.”
